Benchmark Maps Releases New Atlas for Baja California

Santa Barbara, California, May 5, 2021  –  Benchmark Maps has released their first edition Baja California Road & Recreation Atlas, bringing their award-winning style of recreation map titles to the Baja California Peninsula. The result of over two years of cartographic and editorial work, this large format 72-page book illustrates the diverse terrain and recreation attractions of both Mexican states on the peninsula, Baja California and Baja California Sur.

The atlas opens with a regional map of the southwestern US and “Roads to Baja California” before launching into an immersive Recreation Guide that divides the area into well-organized pages of regional maps and recreation listings. Each page contains thoroughly researched points of interest with detailed descriptions and vetted contact information across categories that include National Parks & Protected Areas, Missions, Historic Sites & Museums, Natural Wonders, Boating & Fishing, Beaches, Campgrounds, RV Parks, and more. Specialized maps and listings are dedicated to the region’s recreation hot spots: La Paz, Los Cabos, and wineries of the Guadalupe Valley.

The recreation guide is followed by the largest section of the atlas, 40 pages of large-scale Landscape Maps™. These maps are where the meticulous cartographic & editorial work benefit the user most, accurately illustrating the natural features of the landscape and the intricate network of highways and back roads that provide access to visitors and locals.
